GSA Approved Safes
GSA approved safes are widely used by the federal government, government agencies, military & by government contractors. They are the approved for the storage for classified documents, weapons, narcotics & other sensitive materials & equipment.
There are two classifications of GSA approved safes currently being manufactured. Class 5 safes are used for the storage of weapons, ammunition, narcotics & other sensitive materials & equipment. Class 6 safes are used for the secure storage of documents.
The main difference between the two classes of safe is level of protection that they provide. Class 6 safes are built to withstand 30 minutes of covert entry & 20 hours of surreptitious entry. Class 5 safes also have additional protection against 10 minutes of forced entry.
Class 5 & Class 6 safes come in different models depending on the contents being stored.

Class 5 Map & Plan GSA Approved Safe
Our Class 5 map & plan GSA approved safes, are required for the secure protection and storage of all weapons, classified materials and various other confidential components. Our Class 5- map & plan safes are equipped with an X-09™ safe lock and a body made from AR500 steel. Several map & plan accessories are available. |

Class 5 IPS COMSEC GSA Approved Safe
Our Class 5 IPS COMSEC safes are equipped with a unique interlock design security mechanism, two fan motors for regulating the temperature, and an X-09™ safe lock. This specific safe is available in 3 sizes. Accessories are available for IPS containers. |

Class 5 General Purpose GSA Approved Safe
Our Class 5 general purpose GSA approved safes, are required for the secure protection and storage of all weapons, classified materials and various other confidential components. Our Class 5 general purpose safes are equipped with an X-09™ safe lock. This specific safe is available in 2 sizes.

Our Class 6 Field safes are equipped with an optional, single or dual standard S & G 8560 mechanical Group 1R rated safe lock. Our Class 6 field safes are available in a variety of three colors and especially designed for transport. |

Class 6 Special Size, 1 & 2 Drawer GSA Approved Safes
Our Class 6 Special Size, 1 & 2 Drawer GSA approved security containers, are required for the secure protection and storage of all classified documents. Our Class 6 Special Size, 1 &2 drawer safes are equipped with an optional, single or multiple, X-09™ safe lock. Our Class 6 safes are available in multiple colors and for use only in mobile tactical assemblages |
If you have documents or materials rated confidential, secret or top secret then the GSA approved safe must have an approved safe lock that meets federal Specification FF-L-2740A. The X-09 safe lock manufactured by Kaba-Mas is the most common lock used on GSA safes.
Fedsafes GSA approved safes all have approved X-09 safe locks. All Fedsafes GSA safes are inspected by a GSA container inspector to ensure they meet the required federal specifications.
